This engineering marvel is the result of two visionary Delhi engineers, Mr. Ankit Jain and Mr. Nishant Baranwal. It is not an out-of-the-blue innovation but a result of meticulous research and an in-depth understanding of the challenges of the dewatering industry. For long, mining companies have been facing the challenge of water seepage into their mining projects. Both of them saw this critical issue as an opportunity to create something new that would revolutionise the process of dewatering.

Thus, The Giant Dewatering Pump was born out of a necessity in the mining industry to overcome the operational challenges due to water infiltration in mines. This problem mainly arises at the time of digging deep mines beyond 200 feet down in Earth. 

Development and Designing of The Giant Dewatering Pump

In the six months of developing this pump, the engineering R&D design team at Cosmos Pumps encountered several obstacles. Designing, modelling, and building a variety of simulators was a complex procedure that defined exact specifications and materials of construction (MOC). This stage required unflinching dedication, inventiveness, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

Due to the project’s worldwide scope, parts and machinery had to be sourced from suppliers worldwide. It was a difficult process to find the correct materials, and the team had to deal with issues like quality control, international logistics, and making sure different components worked together. Thorough testing conducted locally was essential to ensure the pump’s functionality in actual mining circumstances.
