Dewatering pumps are manufactured to evacuate unwanted water from low-lying areas. Our construction dewatering pumps are widely used on building sites, tunnels, and foundations, where they are used to pump standing water away. These pumps help keep the ground dry, so that work doesn’t have to stop.
Modern dewatering systems are reliable, efficient, and simple to use, making them essential for industries that deal with water control. At Cosmos Pumps, we are trusted dewatering pump manufacturers with years of expertise in creating durable and high-performance solutions.
As one of the best submersible and surface dewatering pump manufacturers in India, we also offer accessories for your pumping systems.
Auto-prime pumps (Cosmos CAP range) and self-priming pumps (Cosmos CSP range) both operate above the waterline but differ in performance and design. Auto-prime pumps feature a dedicated priming chamber that automatically evacuates air before each start, enabling suction lifts up to 9.8 metres and the ability to run dry without damage — critical for intermittent dewatering applications where sumps empty unpredictably. The CAP range delivers flows up to 74,483 LPM at heads up to 169 metres, powered by diesel engines (KOEL, Eicher, Baudouin, CAT), making them ideal for remote sites without electricity, large flood-control deployments, and mining applications. Self-priming pumps like the CSP prime manually on first use and require electricity, delivering up to 4,500 LPM at 28 metres head — well-suited for smaller construction sites, basement dewatering, and foundation drainage where power is available and the installation is fixed. Choose auto-prime when power is unavailable, portability matters, or the pump runs intermittently. Choose self-priming when electricity is available, flow requirements are moderate, and the installation is fixed. Suction lift is up to 9.8 metres for both.
Correct HP selection depends on four variables: required flow rate (LPM), total head (metres from water surface to discharge point), water type, and available power source. For the Cosmos CDW submersible range: 1.5-3 HP handles 450-1,200 LPM at heads up to 30 metres for small construction sumps; 5-10 HP suits 1,500-3,000 LPM at 40-60 metres for medium tunnel and basement dewatering; 15-50 HP handles 4,000-8,500 LPM or heads above 70 metres for large infrastructure sites, mines, and highway cuttings. For slurry (CSL range, SG up to 2.1): upsize by 30-50% versus clean water calculations. For sewage (CSW range): solid size (20-100 mm) determines pump selection as much as HP — a 50 HP CSW handles 33,000 LPM at 60 metres head. For surface auto-prime (CAP range): available in 2 HP to 1,550+ HP — selected primarily by flow rate and required suction lift. Always measure actual site conditions before ordering. The Cosmos CDW submersible dewatering pump is built around five engineering choices that matter on Indian construction and infrastructure sites. First, nitride-hardened SS-410 impellers with HRC 52-55 hardness — significantly harder than cast iron or standard stainless steel impellers in most competing products, extending service life in abrasive muddy water. Second, aluminium alloy stator casing for better heat dissipation than cast iron, critical in high-ambient-temperature Indian site conditions. Third, Class H insulation rated to 180 degrees C — the highest insulation class used in industrial pump motors — protecting against thermal overload damage in sustained heavy-duty operation. Fourth, adjustable wear plate gap of plus or minus 5mm at site — when pump efficiency drops due to wear, the gap can be adjusted directly on site in minutes without returning the pump to a workshop. Fifth, a sacrificial zinc anode option that protects the pump body in saline or coastal seawater applications. The CDW range is ISO 9001:2015 and CE certified, manufactured in-house at the Faridabad facility since 2021.
CosmoSmart is Cosmos Pumps proprietary IoT platform for remote pump fleet management, available on Android and iOS. The system monitors in real time: GPS location of each pump unit, live operating parameters (flow rate, pressure, motor temperature), fuel level and consumption rate, re-fuelling events and fuel theft alerts triggered by unexplained fuel drops, and service interval alerts based on actual running hours. It stores the last 6 months of running data for fleet performance analysis, maintenance scheduling, and project reporting. CosmoSmart is designed for rental fleet operators managing 50+ pump units across multiple sites, EPC project managers running multi-site dewatering operations, and municipal flood-control teams coordinating large pump deployments during monsoon. CosmoSmart 2.0 (2024) added enhanced data analytics and reporting dashboards. CosmoSmart Control (2025) added active remote control capability — operators can start, stop, or adjust pump parameters without being on site. CosmoSmart is particularly valuable during the June-September monsoon period, when Cosmos deploys 80+ pumps across flood-control operations annually.
Cosmos Pumps holds six certifications covering quality management, product safety, government tender eligibility, and international market access. ISO 9001:2015 covers the quality management system across manufacturing, testing, and delivery at the Faridabad facility — required by most large EPC contractors and government agencies as a procurement condition. CE is the European Union product safety certification, enabling direct export to EU member countries and signalling compliance with international engineering standards. ZED Gold is awarded by the Indian Government Zero Defect Zero Effect programme and is a prerequisite for preferential treatment in certain government and PSU tenders. UL Compliance is the US Underwriters Laboratories product safety standard, relevant for North America exports and international procurement specifications. NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation) registration provides preferential access to government procurement and public sector tenders in India. EAC (Eurasian Conformity) certification is required for export to Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. All certifications are current and can be shared with procurement teams on request. Contact cosmos@cosmospumps.com or call +91 99333 22238.
