Once the air is cleared, the pump draws liquid from the source and operates continuously; if the supply runs dry, the auto-prime system re-establishes suction when liquid returns without operator intervention.

The Cosmos CAP Auto-Prime pump achieves suction lifts up to 9.8 M, making it the right choice when:

The pump cannot be immersed in the water source (surface installation only)
There is no reliable electricity supply (diesel engine options: KOEL, Eicher, Baudouin, CAT)
Portability is required — small or heavy trolley configurations for multi-site deployment
Very high flow rates are needed (CAP delivers up to 74,483 LPM)

Auto-prime pumps differ from self-priming pumps in one key way: self-priming pumps re-prime using residual liquid trapped in the casing; auto-prime pumps use a vacuum system, giving them reliable performance on the first start even when the pump casing is completely dry.
