Accepted Answer

We can supply the pumps ranging from 4",6",8" and 12” sizes. Pls contact us for more details.

Question 6

How often we need to drain the auto prime tank?

Accepted Answer

You no need to drain the water from auto prime tank daily.

Question 7

What type of drive source is used in Auto-Prime/Self-prime pumps?

Accepted Answer

Our pumps are available with diesel engine or electric motor drives.

Question 8

What is Shut-off Head?

Accepted Answer

It is the maximum head at which the pump will shut to perform.

Question 9

What is Total Head?

Accepted Answer

The sum of the Suction Head and Discharge Head.

Question 10

What is Suction head?

Accepted Answer

Height between suction points of pump and water source level from where water is to be sucked.

Question 11

What are the customizations available in our Auto-Prime Pumps?

Accepted Answer

We offer custom options for:

 	Flow rate & head (up to 3,500 m³/hr & 150 m)
Material of construction (SS316, SS410, CI, or special alloys)
 	Mounting (skid, trolley)
 	Noise control (silenced canopy)
Real time monitoring (COSMOSMART remote monitoring)

Question 12

What is Auto-Priming or Self-Priming?

Accepted Answer

Auto-Priming pumps use a vacuum /diaphragm pump and priming tank unit to remove air from the suction pipe, allowing pumping to start automatically—even with suction lifts up to 8.5 m. Explore Cosmos Pumps’ full range of auto priming pump models for industrial and construction dewatering.

Question 13

What is Pump Priming?

Accepted Answer

Pump Priming is the process of removing air from the pump and suction line.

Question 14

What is Priming?

Accepted Answer

Priming simply means preparing or getting something ready for operation.

Question 15

What is a Auto-Prime Pump?

Accepted Answer

An auto-prime pump is a surface-mounted centrifugal pump fitted with a dedicated priming chamber and vacuum mechanism that evacuates air from the suction pipe automatically before each start — no manual priming or foot valve is needed. Once the air is cleared, the pump draws liquid from the source and operates continuously; if the supply runs dry, the auto-prime system re-establishes suction when liquid returns without operator intervention.

The Cosmos CAP Auto-Prime pump achieves suction lifts up to 9.8 M, making it the right choice when:

The pump cannot be immersed in the water source (surface installation only)
There is no reliable electricity supply (diesel engine options: KOEL, Eicher, Baudouin, CAT)
Portability is required — small or heavy trolley configurations for multi-site deployment
Very high flow rates are needed (CAP delivers up to 74,483 LPM)

Auto-prime pumps differ from self-priming pumps in one key way: self-priming pumps re-prime using residual liquid trapped in the casing; auto-prime pumps use a vacuum system, giving them reliable performance on the first start even when the pump casing is completely dry.

Question 16

Where is your factory located?

Accepted Answer

Our factory is located at:

Question 19

What’s the warranty for the pumps?

Accepted Answer

Question 20

Can I get more than 1000 m3/hr flow rate in any of your pumps?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many of our AutoPrime models are capable of flows well above 1,000 m³/hr.

Question 21

What is the relation between Head and Flow?

Accepted Answer

As the head increases, flow decreases, and vice versa. Pumps are engineered to provide the best balance for the application.

Question 22

What is Pump Flow rate?

Accepted Answer

It’s the volume of liquid the pump moves per unit time, usually measured in m³/hr or GPM/LPM.

Question 23

What is Delivery Head?

Accepted Answer

The vertical distance from the pump’s centerline to the discharge point.

Question 24

What is Pump Head?

Accepted Answer

The total height the pump can lift liquid, including suction lift, delivery head, and system losses.

Question 25

Cosmos Pump manufactures which type of Pump?

Accepted Answer
